Surya Grahan 2011 | Solar Eclipse In India 2011


The New Year 2011’s first partial solar eclipse (surya grahan) occurred today in Western Europe
or northwestern Africa, today morning. The effect of the eclipses on Earth started from 12:10:11 IST and will end at 16:30:54 IST, according to the reports. The people of the northern part of the country besides from Europe
, the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa and Western Asia will able to watch the scene.

Solar eclipse today

A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, thus fully or partly obscuring the Earth’s view of the Sun.

The year sky watchers will be able to see four solar eclipses and two total lunar eclipses in different parts of the sphere, including India. But the time varies according to the area.

It will be visible for a short time. It is expected that the populace of Srinagar will be able to observe its largest part of about 18%, which will start from starting at 2:37 pm and will end at 4:18 pm.

The people of Capital City, Delhi, would be the first to observe the scene of eclipse. The timings are 15:11:49 and 15:52:02 IST with a magnitude 2.7 %.

There is a piece of advice for those people who wants to watch it- don’t forget to take precautions before watching the eclipses and cover up your eyes, do not stare directly at the eclipse with the naked eyes.
