Five fights broke out late in the third period of Thursday night's game between the Flyers and Senators. With the Flyers leading 5-2, Philadelphia's Jeff Carter fought Jesse Winchester of Ottawa. Immediately after the fight, the Flyers scored to take 6-2 lead.
Later in the period, Flyers winger Claude Giroux dropped his gloves and took on Nick Foglino. Giroux took him down 20 seconds into the fight.
Just one second later, three different fights broke out simultaneously. Ottawa's Jarkko Ruutu fought Scott Hartnell, Chris Neil battled Philadelphia's Jody Shelley, and Matt Carkner fought Sean O'Donnell.oglino
The Flyers went on to win 6-2 and the teams combined for only 126 penalty minutes in the third period.
