Cork plane crash: six killed as aircraft crashes in fog Ireland

Irish authorities say a small commuter aircraft has overturned and caught fire on the Cork Airport runway and several people have been killed.

Irish broadcaster RTE reported that eight people have died. The Irish Aviation Authority cautioned that emergency personnel have yet to confirm the number of dead or injured.

The aircraft operated by Isle of Man-based regional carrier Manx2 was traveling Thursday from Belfast, Northern Ireland, to the southwestern city of Cork. Witnesses say the turboprop aircraft had made several attempts to land in foggy conditions.
