Watch Plane crashes in Canadian Arctic, 12 killed
Resolute Bay: A chartered Boeing 737 plane crashed Saturday afternoon as it was approaching an airport in Canada's Arctic region, killing 12 people, police said.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the plane went down near the tiny hamlet of Resolute Bay in the Arctic territory of Nunavut. The First Air charter flight, number 6560, was traveling from Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories to Resolute Bay, and was scheduled to continue on to Grise Fiord on Ellesmere Island.Christelle Legault, a spokesman for the governor general, said no one from Johnston's official delegation was on the plane that crashed. Johnston is the representative of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II as Canada's head of state.
"Sharon and I are deeply saddened by the catastrophe that occurred in Resolute Bay, where an airplane crashed earlier this afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this tragic event," Johnston said in a statement. "I was able to witness first hand the professionalism and dedication of our Canadian Forces and civilian organizations as they responded quickly and effectively to this catastrophe."
Harper said in a statement that he was deeply saddened by the news and thanked the military for their rescue efforts.
Despite its remote location far above the treeline, Resolute is known as the nexus of the North, a frequent staging community for scientific, military and commercial expeditions. It's also the base for the Canadian Polar Continental Shelf project, a federal institution that handles logistics for Arctic researchers. Resolute is also the planned location of the army's new winter warfare school.

University Of Alabama Panhellenic Recruiting Video Goes Viral, Stars Probably Regret It (VIDEO)
Oh, goodness. The Panhellenic executive council at the University of Alabama have put together this fun little video in hopes of convincing incoming freshmen to "Go Greek." Obviously, this video is the Rebecca Black of Panhellenic recruitment videos.Cathy Andreen, the Director of Media Relations at the University of Alabama, stressed to The Huffington Post that the video was made by students for a recruitment convocation on Saturday. "It was supposed to just be to welcome the girls who were going out for Greek rush," Andreen said. She did not know who posted it to YouTube originally, nor who deleted it.
Change of heart? Probably. But the women in the video look like they were having fun making it, and that's all that matters.

Teen Girl Falls Over Niagara Falls [August 14th, 2011]
The 19-year-old international student from Japan was presumed drowned after she plunged into the fast-flowing waters near the brink of Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side of the falls at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to Canadian park police.
She had climbed over a railing and straddled it while enjoying the view with a friend, police said.
"The young woman stood up in what appeared to be an attempt to climb back over when she lost her balance and fell," reads a statement from Canadian park police."We have about 11 million people a year that arrive here to see the falls, and they leave safely. If you are a young adult and you choose to climb over a restraining barrier, unfortunately there are consequences - and in this case it is tragic," Kane said.
Police called off the search late Sunday night and resumed around 6:30 a.m. Monday, but as of midday the woman's body had not been recovered.
The victim's name has not yet been released.
Earlier in Sunday, a 27-year-old London, Ont., man survived a 30-foot fall into the Niagara gorge. After a four-hour rescue operation, the man was transported to hospital with head trauma and a serious leg fracture.

Keegan Bradley Wins PGA Championship 2011 In Playoff
ATLANTA, GEORGIA // PGA Tour rookie Keegan Bradley was the unlikely winner of the US PGA Championship yesterday, with his play-off victory over Jason Dufner completing a meteoric rise from the lesser tours that few had noticed.
Bradley, ranked 108th in the world coming into this week, gave the US the boost they needed by ending a run of six straight major wins by non-Americans, despite never being one of the players picked out as part of the new generation.
Not that the former Hooters Tour and Nationwide Tour competitor cares about lack of attention.
"Ever since I was 10 years old, I've kind of flown under the radar," Bradley said. "I had what I thought was a pretty good college career but I never really got noticed. It was the same in junior golf and kind of the same out here. The 25-year-old Bradley, the nephew of LPGA Hall of Famer Pat Bradley, won the PGA in his very first appearance at a major championship. Dufner was denied his first tour win.
Going to the playoff, the U.S. was assured of breaking its longest drought in the modern Grand Slam era, having gone six straight majors without winning since Phil Mickelson captured the 2010 Masters.
Anders Hansen of Denmark closed with a 4-under 66 but finished one stroke out of the playoff at 273. Robert Karlsson of Sweden, David Toms and Scott Verplank tied for fourth at 275.

Warrant Singer Jani Lane Dies at 47
On Thursday, the heavy metal singer was found dead in his room at a Comfort Inn in Woodland Hills, Calif., the Associated Press confirms. Police officers told the AP that the cause and circumstances of the rocker's death are not yet known.
Lane (real name: John Kennedy Oswald) is survived by four children, Taylar, Brittany, Madison and Ryan, from two previous marriages. (Taylar's mother is model Bobbie Brown, his first wife, who starred in Warrant's classic "Cherry Pie" video.) According to his Twitter account, his third wife is named Kimberly.he blond-maned, leather-clad Lane embodied the glammed-out pop-metal genre of the late ’80s and early ’90s. As frontman of Warrant, he wrote the band’s hits “Heaven,” “Down Boys,” and “Cherry Pie.” He left the band in 1992, but rejoined (and quit again) several times since. My family, as well as many others, has persevered with loved ones through chemical dependency. It is long walk in the same direction with no shortcuts. Sadly, awareness only comes up when folks like Jani Lane or Amy Winehouse die. But if you know someone or if you are struggling yourself, seek out help now.
Garner has a host of options for those in need. Specifically, there are two AA meetings each week at Sovereign King Church and finding them in the greater Raleigh area can be as easy following this link.
Sadly, it takes the death of someone high profile to grab people’s attention. Let’s not let the death of Jani Lane be for naught. If you need help, reach out. If you have family in need, reach out. The long walk in one direction begins with a single step.

Ron Paul Owns Rick Santorum At Iowa Debate
The debate began with the two most similar candidates– Minnesotans Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Rep. Michele Bachmann– pulling no punches in disparaging each other’s records. It wouldn’t take long for the two most different candidates to have at it, and the foreign policy conversation between. Rep. Ron Paul and Rick Santorum delivered just as much as the experience one among the Minnesotans.
Rep. Paul brought his vintage A-game to the debate on foreign policy tonight, attacking America’s foreign policy on Iran and arguing that they were entirely justified in wanting nuclear weapons. Arguing that the USSR had nuclear weapons and “they were the greatest danger in our history,” he concluded it made no sense to stop the Iranians, who were not a threat. Paul and Santorum clashed during Thursday's debate over Iran's nuclear ambitions and its threats to the United States. Paul says Santorum engages in "war propaganda." Santorum says Paul is "obviously not seeing clearly" on the subject and does not understand the threats to the country from Islamic militants.
Paul, a tea party favorite who opposes U.S. military engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan, says the United States is agitating in that region without reason. Santorum, the former No. 3 Republican in the Senate, says Iran is responsible for U.S. deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan.

FBI: 'Dougherty Gang' fired at officers with AK-47
ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - On a stretch of two-lane Colorado interstate south of Colorado Springs, three Florida outlaws tried one last time to run from the law after a high-speed chase and car crash.
"The first male party was taken into custody right on the off ramp, right near the vehicle. The female had run down into a field where she was taken into custody. The third suspect had run through the field, across the highway where the motels and restaurants are, and we had some citizens there that kept an eye on him. He was taken into custody there," said Colorado’s Huerfano County Sheriff Bruce Newman.
Law enforcement officials say Lee Grace Dougherty leveled her weapon at a police officer when he ran after her into a field.According to Colorado State Patrol, the three suspects were booked into the Pueblo County Jail. Each faces charges including four counts of 1st degree assault on a peace officer.
The nationwide manhunt for the Doughertys began last Tuesday when, according to authorities, they fired shots at a police officer who tried to pull them over in central Florida. Just hours later, they allegedly robbed a bank in Valdosta, Georgia with an assault rifle and “machine pistol,” Joly said.
Ryan Dougherty was last sentenced Monday in Volusia County, Florida, to 10 years' probation and two years of community control monitoring for convictions on two counts of sending harmful information to a minor.

George Lopez's 'Lopez Tonight' Gets Canceled
“TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of ‘Lopez Tonight,’” TBS said in a statement.
“Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer,” the network’s statement continued. “TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air.”When Conan lost the Tonight Show after NBC tried to push him to after midnight in favor of a thirty minute Jay Leno show at 11:35pm, Conan bolted and ended up landing on TBS at 11pm. Some were shocked that this move caused George Lopez to be bumped back to midnight himself. But this situation was different.TBS wouldn’t have been out shopping for Conan in the first place if it had been satisfied with the ratings Lopez was generating,TBS aired 140 original episodes this past season.
“Conan” is now averaging fewer than one million viewers a night in live viewership, below probably what TBS had hoped for when he started last fall. But Koonin said Conan gets plenty of DVR pick up, possesses a healthy on-line presence and draws in an impressively young audience, averaging 32 years old. That’s more than two decades younger than the average viewer of Leno or Letterman. From an advertising standpoint, Conan is still a good story to sell.

Facebook to disable inmate accounts in California
Facebook has agreed to disable the profiles of prison inmates in California whose accounts have been updated while they are behind bars.
"Access to social media allows inmates to circumvent our monitoring process and continue to engage in criminal activity," California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation secretary Matthew Cate said in a statement Monday. The partnership between CDCR and the popular social networking site was announced after California corrections official received hundreds of complaints from victims who were contacted by prison inmates behind bars. The victim was 10 years old when she was molested and was contacted by the offender seven years later. He even knew what her current hairstyle was and what brand of clothes she wore.
Law enforcement officials are trying to combat the huge influx of contraband cellphones in prison. Some 7,284 cellphones were confiscated in the first six months of this year, up from 261 devices in 2006.

UK Police Arrest Over 160 in Weekend London Riots
London police said Monday that groups of young people looted shops in some parts of London, attacked police officers and set fire to vehicles. Around 35 police officers were injured. Police commander Christine Jones says officers are "shocked at the outrageous level of violence directed against them."
The violence erupted in the north London suburb of Tottenham on Saturday night amid community anger over a fatal police shooting. Police said "copycat" violence spread to other parts of London on Sunday night and early Monday, including the main shopping district at Oxford Circus.
The protest over the death of Mark Duggan, who was gunned down in disputed circumstances Thursday, was initially peaceful. But it turned ugly as up to 500 people gathered around Tottenham's police station late Saturday. Some protesters threw bottles with gasoline at police lines while others confronted officers with baseball bats and bars and attempted to storm the station. Two police cars and a double-decker bus were set alight, and several buildings along Tottenham's main street were set alight and reduced to smoldering shells.

Manchester United - Manchester City 3-2 video highlights 07/08/2011
The first signs of derby animosity showed after twenty minutes when Edin Dzeko and Anderson clashed over a tackle by the Bosnian forward, each earning a yellow card for their angry reactions.Soon after, Micah Richards was lucky only to receive a yellow for a wayward lunge on debutant Ashley Young just outside the penalty area, and Wayne Rooney went close with the free-kick, curling just over the far post from a tight angle.
City finally created a chance on the half-hour mark, with a slick passing move. Yaya Toure surged forward to supply David Silva, who played a sumptuous through-pass for the advancing James Milner, who, under pressure from two defenders, had his shot deflected past the far post, but a goal kick was harshly given.
Another deflection later saved City’s blushes as Dzeko, part of a wall defending a direct free-kick, saw Nani’s shot bounce off his knee and fly inches past the post. Rockies' Juan Nicasio has neck surgery
Colorado Rockies pitcher Juan Nicasio underwent neck surgery early Saturday to stabilize a broken vertebrae after he was struck in the head by a line drive.
Rockies trainer Keith Dugger said that neurosurgeon Peter Witt inserted two screws into the damaged C-1 vertebrae and then sought to stabilize the area by putting a small metal plate on the back of Nicasio's neck. Nicasio was put in a cervical collar and remains under heavy sedation at a Denver hospital but has control and movement in all his extremities.
Ishikawa doesn't get much attention in these parts because he has struggled in America, with only one top 10 in 2010 when Ishikawa reached the third round of the Match Play Championship. This is his 22nd tournament in America, and he started feeling comfortable only when he tied for 20th at the Masters this year.

Police cars torched as shooting sparks protests in north London
TWO police cars were set on fire overnight as hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of north London to protest the fatal shooting of a young father by police.
Trouble flared after a crowd of around 300 gathered in the Tottenham area, with some hurling missiles and smashing shop windows as the unrest threatened to spiral into a riot.
It followed a march, involving around 120 people, from the Broadwater Farm area to Tottenham police station demanding "justice" for the shot man named locally as Mark Duggan.
The black father-of-four, 29, died on Thursday, allegedly after he exchanged fire with police officers. The patrol cars were torched as dozens gathered outside the police station on the High Road in Tottenham.
A spokesperson for London's Metropolitan Police said missiles were thrown at the vehicles.
"One was set alight and one was pushed into the middle of the High Road," he said.
Officers were being dispatched to disperse the crowd, he added.
The unrest occurred following a march from Broadwater Farm, a 1960s public housing estate in Tottenham.Earlier a family friend of Mr Duggan, who gave her name only as Nikki, 53, said the man's friends and relatives had organised the protest because "something has to be done" and the marchers wanted "justice for the family".
It was revealed that Mr Duggan had been travelling in a minicab and was gunned down after an apparent exchange of fire. Officers had been attempting to carry out an arrest under the Trident operational command unit, which deals with gun crime in the black community, according to the Independent Police Complaints Commission

Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants Fight! 8-5-2011
SAN FRANCISCO — In the middle of the visitors clubhouse, Shane Victorino adjusted his cufflinks and prepared to speak. He was calm now, but agitated. His teammates had already rushed inside to watch replays of the brawl between the Giants. They laughed, yelled and smiled. A 9-2 victory over San Francisco was sweeter than usual.
"What a game," said Brian Schneider, the one who ended up on the bottom of the pile. "An intense game."Without watching the video a few dozen times, it's impossible to know who threw punches and who didn't. But you can bet some people at Major League Baseball will be spend plenty of man-hours on this one. You can also bet that Shane Victorino's going to be fined and perhaps suspended for a few games, since if he'd just taken his base all of this ugliness would have been avoided. Especially since he tried to push his way through umpire Mike Muchlinski.
Ramon Ramirez probably gets suspended too, for plunking Victorino with some apparent intention.
Just before Ramirez nailed Victorino, Jimmy Rollins had stolen second base with the Phillies ahead by six runs. Ah, those unwritten rules .

NATO helicopter crashes in Afghanistan, killing 31 U.S. troops
A NATO helicopter crashed in central Afghanistan overnight killing 31 U.S. soldiers and 7 Afghan troops, the Afghan president said Saturday, a devastating death toll and easily the worst single incident for foreign troops in 10 years of war.
A brief statement from the presidential palace said the helicopter had crashed in central Maidan Wardak province, just to the west of the capital, Kabul, and identified the Americans as special forces troops.Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Wardak provincial administration, Shahidullah Shahid, told Xinhua that a NATO helicopter crashed in Syed Abad district during a military operation Friday night.
On the other hand, Taliban outfit, according to local media, claimed responsibility, saying a helicopter was shot down by militants, leaving several people aboard dead.
The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the militant group announced spring offensive from May 1 against Afghan and NATO-led troops stationed in Afghanistan.Mujahid said the Taliban fired on NATO and downed the helicopter, killing all the crew. He said eight insurgents also died.in June 2005, 16 American troops were killed when a U.S. helicopter crashed in eastern Kunar province after apparently being hit by a rocket-propelled grenade.
At NATO headquarters in Brussels, an official said it was a twin-rotor Chinook helicopter. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he was receiving his information from an Afghan officer in Kabul.

Nicki Minaj's Nip Slip on Good Morning America GMA
Nicki Minaj's live nip slip on Good Morning America (GMA) has caused the Parents Television Council (PTC) to blast the show for their slow triggered censors. Unlike 2004's Super Bowl incident with Janet Jackson, Minaj isn't the one being slammed by the media. This time around, all the harsh words are being directed at GMA for failing to keep Nicki's nipple off air. However, ABC did state that they did have a five-second delay in place. A rep for them stated, "Although we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on GMA, the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones. We are sorry that this occurred."
As sorry as ABC and Good Morning America are, there's a strong chance that several grown men and even some women were quite happy to see Nicki Minaj's nip slip bouncing around. Ah, those fortunate East Coasters really do get all the fun; at least when it is broadcasted live.

U.S. Credit Downgraded: S&P Reduces Rating To AA+ [UPDATE]
The United States has lost its sterling credit rating from Standard & Poor's.
The credit rating agency on Friday lowered the nation's AAA rating for the first time since granting it in 1917. The move came less than a week after a gridlocked Congress finally agreed to spending cuts that would reduce the debt by more than $2 trillion – a tumultuous process that contributed to convulsions in financial markets. The promised cuts were not enough to satisfy S&P.
The U.S. would probably keep its AAA rating if a default is avoided, but "whether the outlook on the rating would be stable or negative would depend on whether the outcome of the negotiations included meaningful progress toward substantial and credible long-term deficit reduction," Moody's said.US politicians, commentators and economists weigh in with their views on the US credit rating downgrade by S&PStill, he said, "The United States deserves to have this happen," because of its clumsy handling of fiscal policy.
In reacting to the downgrade, Democrats and Republicans continued to blame each other and pledged to hold firm to their principles.

His McLaren F1 car has a top speed of 230 mph (370 kph), though police did not suggest Atkinson had been speeding. The exclusive cars can cost around $1 million.

Jury finds sect leader guilty of sexual assault
A Texas jury convicted polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs of child sexual assault on Thursday in a case stemming from two young followers he took as brides in what his church calls "spiritual marriages."
The head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints stood stone-faced as the verdict was read. Jeffs, who acted as his own attorney, stood mostly mute for his closing argument, staring at the floor, for all but a few seconds of the half hour he was allotted.Jeffs, 55, stood silently when the verdict was read out, leaving him facing up to 119 years behind bars. It capped a bizarre trial at which he conducted his own defence, refused to cross-examine prosecution witnesses, and repeatedly told the judge that God intended to punish him with death for the manner in which he was overseeing the case.
Prosecutors used DNA evidence to show that Jeffs was the father of a girl born to a 15-year-old member of his sect, which has roughly 10,000 members. And they played the court in San Angelo several audio recordings in which he instructed young women how to gratify him sexually. He was convicted in Utah on two counts of being an accomplice to rape for using his religious influence over his followers to coerce a 14-year-old girl into marrying her 19-year-old cousin. Afterward, he was sentenced to two consecutive prison terms of five years to life.
But in July 2010, the Utah Supreme Court overturned his convictions, ruling that the jury instructions were erroneous. Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff said last week Utah is prepared to retry Jeffs, depending on the outcome of the Texas case.

Watch Thylane Loubry Blondeau, 10-Year-Old Model
Thylane Loubry Blondeau, a 10-year-old with stunning good looks, seems destined for a wildly successful modeling career. But photos of the preteen in this month's issue of French Vogue are reigniting a debate over the sexualization of young girls.
With her full lips, waist-length hair and piercing blue eyes, Blondeau is already an in-demand model. The Parisian has been modelling since she was four, appearing in such magazine as Vogue Enfants. But it's her spread in this month's French Vogue that has tongues wagging. But there are those voices who have defended the photos, such as the blogger behind "F**k Yeah Thylane Loubry Blondeau" (which has been renamed simply "Thylane Léna-Rose Blondeau.")
On the site, the blogger argues that the mini model looks "stunning", saying, "I just wished that some people would see the beauty in them too" and "stop having such a judgemental attitude."
However most critics are saying that with the appearance of an arguably-sexy 10-year-old model, the line has been drawn. And as "Good morning America" reminds us, thirteen-year-old Elle Fanning for Marc by Marc Jacobs and fourteen-year-old Hailee Steinfeld for Miu Miu raised a few eyebrows.

Ex-NFL star turned actor Bubba Smith dies
Gene Washington couldn't believe the news when he heard it. His good friend and former Michigan State teammate Bubba Smith was dead at 66.
"I had no idea that he was even ill or that anything could be wrong," Washington said Wednesday night. "It's incredibly sad because Bubba was such a larger-than-life figure. Nothing surprised you with Bubba."His best work, though, came in college, and Smith was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988.
“He was simply a good guy,” former Michigan State teammate Robert Viney said in a statement released through the university. “His size made him an intimidating figure, but he was a real gentleman. He was a helluva player.”Smith played for his father, Willie Ray Smith, in Beaumont, Texas, before heading to Michigan State, where he was an All-American in 1966.
As an actor his most memorable role was playing Moses Hightower, the soft-spoken officer in the "Police Academy" series. He also appeared in such television series as "Good Times," "Charlie's Angels," and "Half Nelson," and was a regular in the ground-breaking Miller Lite commercials featuring retired players.

White House Fence Jumper Apprehended By Secret Service Agents
A homeless man was in custody Tuesday night after climbing over the White House fence.
The man was immediately captured by uniformed Secret Service agents, who guard the complex around the clock, said agency spokesman Ed Donovan. He had a backpack that Donovan said was being examined for possible explosive material.
Donovan said the man, James Dirk Crudup, 41, was being transferred to District of Columbia police for processing. He faces charges of unlawful entry and contempt of court for violating an order to stay away from the White House, Donovan said.A CNN news crew caught some of the drama on tape as it unfolded. Video showed agents leading the man, as they held his hands behind his back, across the North Lawn on the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the White House, where tourists gather to take photographs.
Reporters still at work in the press room saw agents who are stationed closer to the White House with their weapons drawn. At least one agent could be seen on the roof of the building peering through a pair of binoculars.
Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House and Lafayette Park across the street were closed to pedestrians for about 90 minutes. The White House was in lockdown, and no one was allowed to leave the grounds, while authorities investigated the incident.

Matt Damon Defends Teachers Against 'Sh***y' Reason.tv Cameraman (VIDEO)
Actor Matt Damon got into a tense exchange with a journalist from the libertarian Reason TV site after she asked him whether teachers with tenure would lack incentive to work hard at their jobs.
The journalist argued that Damon has an incentive to work hard as an actor because he lacks job security, while teachers do not.the Harvard-educated actor Matt Damon took a stand that has been making the rounds this morning. Sporting his bald style for Neill Blomkamp‘s upcoming sci-fi film Elysium where he plays a convict, he spoke to a reporter at the Save Our Schools Million Teacher March in Washington DC. Standing next to his mother, he lets out a worthy expletive after an impressive defense of teachers, in what could be a deleted Good Will Hunting scene. When Damon's mom, a Boston-area teacher, asked where the cameraman got his numbers, he responded, "I don't know. Ten percent of people in any profession maybe should think of something else.
To which Damon struck back: “Maybe you’re a shitty cameraman.”

“Completely about ego,” J.P. said. ” ‘I want to win. I want to beat all of these guys.’ And at some point all of that changes.”
How does that change?” Robin Roberts asked.“You just fall for the girl,” he explained. “And looking back it was definitely Hong Kong for me. Giffords returns to Congress for debt-limit vote
WASHINGTON -- Seven months after she was shot in the head by a gunman in Tucson, Ariz., Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) made a surprise and emotional return to the House floor on Monday, casting a vote in favor of a bill to raise the nation's debt ceiling.
Giffords entered the chamber to sustained, standing applause, shaking hands with colleagues whom she had not seen since that January day. Her vote, a sideshow to the far more important and compelling personal drama, was in favor of the bill, which passed through the chamber by a margin of 269 to 161.It was an inspiration, really, to all the members, Democrats and Republicans. We're very excited about seeing her," said Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla.
"Her presence here ... as well as her entire service to Congress, brings honor to this chamber," said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. "She is the perfect example of bipartisanship," said Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas."I've never seen more electricity on the floor erupt than when she triumpantly walked up those stairs," she said.
When Biden was asked about what he spoke with Giffords about, he joked, "She's now a member of the cracked head club like me."
The debt ceiling bill passed the House 269-161. The Senate will vote on the measure on Tuesday.

"We're not done yet, I want to urge members of both parties to do the right thing and support this deal.
